For the first time in my life, I sat down and formally put together a monthly budget. Since I am now 59 and a half years around the sun, some people may be shaking their heads that I am just doing this for the first time. It simply was never really on my radar. What persuaded me to sit down and do it is the fact that retiring from the work world is not too far ahead for me, and when the time comes, I desire to be able to do so without worrying about money. To me retiring is not the end of life, but the beginning of new chapter that simply does not include an 8 to 5 job anymore. I will be able to get up every morning and do whatever I feel like doing, and I should not be worrying about money. I am not the type of person who needs to be going out to a job each day to feel useful, or to avoid being bored with life. I do enjoy and love my present job, so it certainly is not about that either. My present job is one that I will happily keep until I decide to retire from working….
Beauty & The Beast, A Novelization
Beauty and the Beast, A Novelization by Elizabeth Rudnick is the version of the story that the 2017 movie is based on. As of this post, I have not seen the movie yet, but the DVD is due out in about two weeks, and I will certainly purchase a copy of it. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorites stories, and it is fun to read various versions of it….
Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie
Strangely enough, I have never read Peter Pan until now. Peter Pan has been a widely loved book for decades, and Disney has helped to immortalize the character in film throughout the years. It is lauded as one of the best books for children. Peter Pan was first published in 1911, and the original title was Peter Pan and Wendy. The main female character is named Wendy, and she plays an important part in the book, so the titled should have remained, Peter Pan and Wendy….
Beauty & The Beast: Lost In A Book
I was inspired to purchase this book after watching a You Tube video from one of my favorite You Tube channels called Paper & Glam. I ordered Beauty & The Beast, Lost In A Book, by Jennifer Donnelly on Amazon. I was excited to begin reading it because I absolutely love the Beauty and the Beast story. I looked forward to the author’s rendition of it. The reviews on Amazon and Goodreads are mostly very high ranking, so I felt confident that I would love this story….
No Such Thing As Luck: A North & South Variation
This is the sixth North and South continuation book that I’ve read. It would be the last one, but I have one more on my Kindle, so this will be the next to the last one. At this point, I am a bit tired of reading North and South continuation books. Some fans of Elizabeth Gaskell’s book may enjoy reading them without ever getting bored, but I’ve simply lost interest in them now….
KonMari Method of Tidying
I’ve been desiring to read The Life Changing Magic of Tidying for quite some time. I ordered it from a private seller on Amazon, but it never arrived. I ordered it again, and this time it showed up. I have always been a person who loves to declutter regularly. I declutter, at least, twice a year. It is a part of my clearing out and cleaning up for spring and later to greet every new year. For years, I prided myself in my ability to keep my house clear of clutter, but I still wanted to read Marie Kondo’s book. It is a best seller, and so my people on You Tube are using the KonMari method….
